Jonathan’s Child Care Ministries – Bo, Sierra Leone

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Davie – Cooper City in Florida!!! This club sponsored two projects at the orphanage in 2017. With rainy season finally over we were able to start the second project over the last few months. A new coat of blue paint has the JCCM campus looking extra beautiful these days. The children absolutely love it! The below before and after photos show what an amazing transformation this really is. None of this would have been possible without the partnership of this Rotary Club. Thank you to each member for making our children’s homes look like new and to the entire Rotary Club of Davie – Cooper City for your generosity! Welcome to our JCCM Family!

Acts 2 Collective School – Asikuma Ghana

Building a permanent structure for our school in Asikuma is our main objective in Ghana. So far YOU have helped raised $43,750 for the beginning phase of the school. What is unique about building in Africa is that you do it brick by brick as you have the funds available. This permanent school structure will improve the learning environment for our school children. The rooms will be cooler, it will be able to sustain the harsh weather conditions during rainy season, and most importantly it will provide room to educate a lot more children! The A2C school is going to impact the community of Asikuma in more ways than we can imagine. We currently have $106,250 to finish the first floor of the building. Consider joining Acts 2 Collective in establishing the foundation of this school.  – GIVE TO THIS BUILDING PROJECT

Ghana Trip

A group will be traveling to Ghana March 12-22nd. We will be visiting Asikuma and Cape Coast. Some women in the group will be putting on Days for Girls seminars and sharing kits in the community. Please be praying for the group as they travel and for Gods guidance during the trip. We have several trips to Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Central African Republic throughout the year. Contact us for more information.

JCCM Education Sponsorship

Thanks to your generosity 41 out of 325 school students have been sponsored!!! For just $10 a month you can invest in a child’s education. We call this an investment because families are already paying some school fees for their children to attend our school. You sponsorship helps meet the gap between student fees and what we need to hire the best teachers. Our goal is to become the best school in Bo and we do that by hiring quality local teachers and investing in them through trainings.

Sign up using the link above. You can sponsor a student at $10 a month or $120 a year. Once registered you will be matched with a specific student and receive an update after all three school terms. Please contact Ashley with questions at ashley@acts2collective.org

Jonathans House – Central African Republic

The school lunch program continues to improve thanks to your donation! Every day lunch is prepared for the 400+ children at the Eugene Rosenau School… every day! Wow! What a blessing this is to Jonathan’s House and the children attending school. No hungry tummies = better learning, stronger confidence and more education. Thank you to all that have supported and continue to support this valuable program.

Haley Goes to Ghana!

My first trip to Ghana was nothing short of an amazing experience for me and I am so thankful that God called me to it when he did. I was able to witness first-hand the pure love and joy that radiates out of the people in Ghana. As hard as it is to narrow down my favorite experience, I would have to say that the visit to the Acts 2 Collective Mission Center school and building relationships with the children and their head master, Samuel, is where my heart has continued to pull me back to. As an education major at Drake University in my final semester, I took a special interest in looking into some of the similarities and differences in the education system. The children were happy and eager to learn each day, but little do they know that they taught me more about the power of simplicity and genuine kindness in one week than I have learned in my entire life.

While reflecting on my experience, I have wrestled with a wide variety of emotions including happiness, sadness, excitement, frustration and just about everything in between. On one hand, I was overjoyed by the incredible work that Acts 2 Collective and The Move Project have done within the communities, but on the other I was moved by the work that still needs to be done. Through this trip, God has inspired me to work through Him and with Him to find my purpose. Upon returning home, I realized that it is now my responsibility to make a difference and continue to serve the people and communities of Ghana in any way that I can. I will forever be thankful for the memories I made and the relationships I have established during my first visit. Ghana and its people will forever hold a special place in my heart!

A special thank you to Drake University for partnering with us in Asikuma, Ghana. Every year Drake leads a trip of students majoring in Education to help improve schools in Ghana and Acts 2 Collective is of them. We would not be making the impact we are today without your support!
